NPI Information

Important Information on How to Submit NPI Numbers to HCAS Health Plans

The National Provider Identifier (NPI) is a unique, government issued standard identifier mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The purpose of the NPI is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the electronic transmission of health information.

All providers must submit their NPI numbers to each health plan in which they have a contract.
